Three women die in Guilford County car crash

Dorothy Allred Davis, 86, of Sophia, Helen Allred Davidson, 90, of High Point and Ora Robbins Garret, 85, of High Point were traveling south on Coltrane Mill Road when the Toyota Corolla they were in collided with a flatbed truck near Highway 62 in southern Guilford County.
All three women, two of whom were sisters, died instantly at the scene. The truck driver, whose name has not been released by the NC Highway Patrol, was taken to Moses Cone Hospital for evaluation.
The truck belonged to Stock Car Steel and Aluminum, a Mooresville company that sells metal and other materials for cars.
The NC Highway Patrol said the Toyota Corolla ran a stop sign and came into the path of the oncoming truck. The backseat passenger, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the Toyota. Alcohol was not determined to be a factor and no charges are expected
