Christine Whitman, the former administrator of the Enviromental Protection Agency is set to testify before Congress about air quality and other health and safety issues resulting from the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

New York officials beleive more than 400,000 people, including workers assisting in cleanup and recovery efforts, were exposed to ground zero dust and pollutants. Some 71,000 people enrolled in a long-term health monitoring program for people with and without health problems because diseases caused by exposure to the pollutants may not manifest for years. Most experts believe there are thousands of people still sick years after ground zero exposure.
